The employer and the employee. Business ethics in question

The story notes that in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, miners in northern Chile employees were paid with tokens, that they traded for wax and food in local stores installed in the mining camps. These local stores were owned by the owners of the mines, so the pay of the miners returned to the employer through the chips in their grocery stores. This practice, which stopped running by the end of the second half of last century, realized the spirit of entrepreneurship at the time, not content with paying poverty wages, they did such a way that ultimately translate to deliver pay food and some clothes.
Almost a century later, apparently around mining mining companies that still exist but no longer pay with cards, looking to save significant sums of money, failing to comply with minimum security measures in mines and their workers. The tragedy of the Mina San Jose, reminds us the worst of the mining companies, is re-discussion is a deeper issue that affects all employers in our country, the business ethics.
Business ethics, corporate responsibility beyond, since the latter has to do with social vocation and contribution to the community that makes the employer. The first, business ethics, is related to the ability of the employer to put in place for workers, consumers, users, in order is like the employer is able to see people not as working capital or means of production, but as a development partner of the firm.
When the year 2008, three pharmacy chains were caught in a price collusion, there was initial outrage and after that it was not long, although this mainly affected the most vulnerable, business ethics was placed in between that and did not occur nothing. On 27 February this year, the second biggest earthquake in Chile's history struck the south central area, most of the buildings withstood the ravages of nature, but was found in Concepción, Temuco, Talca, Ñuñoa , Maipú, among others, that there were entrepreneurs Unscrupulous construction to save on material used or low quality products that were consistent with the minimum requirements of construction, which resulted in thousands of our compatriots lost their home, but even worse, several of them lost their lives trapped between the iron bars of poor quality. Business ethics was again exposed and so far no one takes responsibility for this tragedy.
In these moments that make huge efforts to remove the 33 miners at the bottom of the San José mine, we tried at first to blame the public for failing to supervise these unscrupulous entrepreneurs, perhaps that is so, but in this drama the first responsible are the entrepreneurs who control without should have the minimum conditions of security that they are self imposed, because what is at stake every day in the mining issue is the most prized in the production chain, the lives of people, this was clearly not a priority for this mine patterns.
There is a sense of national hope to have our miners back in their homes, their families, however, beyond the outcome of this tragic and agonizing wait, I think at the end in this country, for our fragile national memory not going to happen. The ethics of the pattern, as indicated by history tabbed end up paying for the miners started their end shopping at grocery stores.
